Thor important role in Faroe well drilling operation

Recently the Statoil manager, Rúni M. Hansen in a radio interview mentioned that the first contracts associated with next year´s drilling operations will be signed shortly. After having announced that it will be the West Hercules drilling platform, which will drill the two wells, it has now been decided that it will be the joint Danish/Faroe Company Esvagt-Thor which has been handed the standby/rescue task. This company held the same task, in last year´s drilling operation. The company held a similar role in 2001, when BP drilled its first Faroe exploration well.

Esvagt/Thor is a daughter company of the Faroese company Thor in Hósvík.
